Learning to Play the Drums
Learning to play drums is very enjoyable and it also comes with the added benefit that it’s a much needed instrument in popular music thereby ensuring the demand for drummers will always be high. You’ll find that because the initial investment required to buy a drum set is often higher than guitar or a keyboard, there are a shortage of drum players and it’s easier to get into bands.
It’s possible to start learning some things about playing drums before you even buy a drum kit. These things include the fundamental practice of how to hold the drumsticks properly and keep some basic rhythmic patterns. There are also courses online you can learn much from however it must be said that nothing will get you playing drums faster or better than having a good local tutor to go to for private lessons once a week.
Since the investment required can be substantial to purchase a drum set you might like to try some drum exercises on a practice pad to make sure that drums will be an instrument you’ll take to with practice. All things considered however, if you have a natural and strong desire to play any particular musical instrument it does normally serve as a sign that you have some talent for it.
The most important thing is to act upon your impulse to learn and stay motivated even when the going gets tough or when you come up against things on the instrument which feel impossible. This is common. The answer is always to stay consistent in your practice and seek out the best tuition you can find.

| Review by ss (USA) 2010-03-14 I was looking for the cheapest I found the keyboard to start learning piano on my own and it worked great. My strategy was the smallest cheapest to buy so I gave up when I was not too much money. There are some cool features built in that learning to play, I'm slowly starting to use it as I find them, and was certainly the opinion... Read more Yamaha YPT-220 61 reviews | ||

| Review by KT (New York, NY United States) 2010-07-04 When you do your homework (not Yamaha's website to read IE) discover that the only difference between the YPG-235 and DGX-230 is the color. The YPG is champagne. The DGX is silver. The DGX-230 is also much cheaper for the same keyboard and comes with a stand and power. (Shop around ... I LOVE Amazon, bu... | Review by maximvk (BLAINE, WA, US) 2010-08-31 Very nice keyboard for a beginner or an experienced musician. Tons of great features that I have yet to learn. Sounds very realistic best of Casio keyboards. The only disappointment is that the page discription product does not mean that the keyboard comes with power adapter. On the basis of the description and the proposal from Amazon... Read more Yamaha 61 Full-Sized reviews | ||

| Review by RP (USA) 2010-07-31 Pros: clean design, weighted keys, good touch, easy to navigate. Cons: the button must be pressed hard and seems fragile, at best a relatively quiet note. | Review by J. Mellette (Dallas, TX USA) 2010-06-03 There are some good reviews already, so I'll try to make this short and to the specific reasons I bought this keyboard focus. | Review by Byron K. Guernsey (Charlestown, Indiana, USA) 2010-06-01 I found the comments of many other Yamaha keyboards that had a piano built, and several of them did a tremendous value for money. The piano sounds are very good interior, but you only have 5 or 6 notes. I do not buy it for the internal sounds. I bought it because of its semi-weighted keys and graded, and the fact t...
